White Smile Laser (Laser Smile)
One of the more common dental concerns that people have relates to the colour of their teeth. No matter how good a smile you may have, having stained, darkened teeth can ruin the effect of a smile. Everybody wants to have a set of pearly, white teeth but different factors pop up that often negatively impact the colour of our teeth. Whether it is coffee consumption or tobacco use or simply the effects of aging, it is practically impossible to maintain that natural white colour of our teeth as we grow older. As a result, teeth whitening treatments has become one of the most sought after dental treatments today.
Although there are a number of teeth whitening services available for individuals today, the most popular teeth whitening treatment is laser teeth whitening. Laser teeth whitening utilises the latest dental technology to provide instant results for its patients. This dental procedure can be completed in a single visit at Kasemrad and takes only 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Under this treatment, our dentist is able to reverse tooth discolouration by using a specialised whitening gel. This gel, which can also be described as a translucent bleaching gel, contains specialised ingredients which absorbs energy from laser, giving the quicker reaction to whithening your teeth 30 times faster than the conventional way, which requires a continuous 2-3 weeks and 8 hours a day to whithen the teeth, for home-bleaching method.
The biggest advantage of obtaining laser teeth whitening from a our dentists is that having whiter teeth will increase the beauty of your smile.
For individuals with serious cases of teeth discolouration, laser teeth whitening may not be strong enough to return your teeth to its natural white state. If this is the case, take heart in knowing that there are numerous options open to you, such as: porcelain veneers or all ceramic crowns.
Dental lasers have been shown to be safe and effective for treating both children and adults. At Kasemrad Hospital Prachachuen, Bangkok, Thailand, we look to the future with great excitement as the use of laser energy in dentistry expands to include many more procedures for us to help you and your love ones.
Veneers
Veneers or Porcelain veneers are thin, shell-like slices of ceramic bonded to the front of the teeth. They are used to cover gaps, to reshape chipped teeth or whiten stained teeth. They are also one of the most natural-looking and long-lasting whitening options available.
The application of porcelain veneers requires three trips to see our dentist. First, visit our dentist for a diagnosis and treatment-planning session. This is when you and our dentist will discuss your specific needs. Next, return for a preparation session. This time, our dentist will buff about half a millimeter off your teeth to create room for the veneer. He or she will also create a mold of your teeth and send it to a laboratory. Within one week, the laboratory will send back the veneers based on this mold. Finally, return for the bonding session. Your dentist will first give you a "trial fitting" of your veneers; he or she will use water or glycerine to attach them to your teeth. This fitting is your chance to comment on the fit and colour of the veneers, and to request any final changes or adjustments.
Once you are satisfied with the look of the veneers, our dentists will clean your teeth with bond-aiding chemicals and cement the veneers to your teeth. Finally, he or she will flash a light on the veneers to speed up the hardening of the cement. |

Invisalign
One of the main drawbacks of orthodontic appliances, devices worn to correct gaps, rotations, and overlaps in your teeth, is their visibility. Traditionally, braces consist of metal, plastic or ceramic brackets glued to the teeth and holding a tightening wire in place. While braces produce beautiful results, many would-be clients never wear them for fear of looking unattractive during the process. Fortunately, Invisalign® produces exactly the same results—and is completely invisible. |
|
| |
The Invisalign treatment consists of a series of snap-on, custom fit, removable mouth trays, or aligners, that apply a controlled amount of force to your teeth, forcing them to shift. The process begins with a computer-generated image of what your teeth will look like at each stage of treatment, right up until the end. Each tray is designed to pressure specific teeth to move into place, beginning with the back teeth and finishing with the front. At the end of each two-week period, you will switch trays. Throughout the process, you will visit your dentist every six weeks to ensure treatment is progressing as planned. Once your treatment is complete, you will likely wear a (clear) retainer to ensure your new smile stays in place.
Invisalign trays are made of clear plastic, so they are practically invisible when they are on your teeth. As well, because they are removable, they can be taken out while eating, drinking or brushing and flossing.
If you are a candidate for braces, you are likely a candidate for Invisalign as well, with one exception: Unlike braces, Invisalign cannot be combined with headgear to fix malocclusion. Invisalign trays, then, should only be used by patients with a proper bite and alignment.
Invisalign offers the benefits of invisibility and comfort—unlike traditional braces, there is no tightening or adjustments. There are, of course, things to keep in mind:
- Our Kasemrad dentists and orthodontists have attended a special workshop and can prescribe and oversee Invisalign treatment.
- Proper hygiene is mandatory. Be sure to brush and floss thoroughly before reapplying the aligner.
- As with all orthodontic treatment, patients may experience discomfort for a few days following the beginning of a new stage in treatment (in this case, a new tray). Remember, the pain is a good thing—it signals that your treatment is working.
- Also like all orthodontic treatment, Invisalign® can potentially aggravate the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), or jaw bone.
Our Centre offers the latest advancements in orthodontic care such as the new Invisalign System and Ceramic Brackets .
Dental Implants
Dental implants replace missing natural teeth with natural-looking, natural-feeling titanium ones. Edentulism, or tooth loss, can create several problems. Your nutrition may suffer, as foods you once enjoyed become too hard to chew. Your remaining teeth may suffer, as they do the work of the missing teeth and end up strained, and possibly damaged, themselves. Your jawbone may suffer, as the absence of teeth can cause it to weaken or shrink (a process called resorption). And, of course, your smile may suffer, too.
Fortunately, dental implants can combat edentulism. Patients can choose from two types: implants placed on top of the jawbone but under the gums, or implants rooted into the jawbone. Because implants "mimic" natural teeth, they allow the patient to go on as before the tooth loss occurred. The same foods can be eaten, and the risk of resorption is greatly reduced.
Patients can choose from a variety of implants, depending on their needs: Root form implants are closest in shape to the natural tooth. They are inserted directly into incisions in the bone, and the bone and the gums grow around the root form in about six weeks.
All of the implants require a healing period, or osseointegration. The length of this period depends on the type of implants. After osseointegration, our surgical dentist will insert the final replacement teeth.
Paediatric Dentistry
Visits fun and friendly
At the Kasemrad Dental Centre, we employ a caring and sensitive team who strive to enhance a visit by making it fun and friendly. At each appointment, we allow plenty of time so your child won't feel rushed; take baby steps doing a little at a time; use terminology that is kid-friendly; and try to make the appointment fun and entertaining. A child specific playroom in the waiting room before, cartoons on the wall, make the entire visit enjoyable for parents and child alike.
Best example starts at home
Prepare you child by playing dentist games, talking about the dentist as a friend and by allowing your child to accompany you or a sibling to a hygiene visit.
Have fun and have happy teeth!
Our Dental Centre strictly follows Universal Infection Control precautions for every patient. The Controls are safety procedures established by the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Dental Association (ADA). These precautions require all dental staff involved in patient care to use appropriate protective wear, such as gloves, masks and eyewear.
